What is a chiropractor?
Chiropractors are primary care physicians trained to assess and treat all myofascial (muscle, connective tissue) and boney joint disorders. Chiropractors are not “bone” doctors. They are considered central nervous system doctors.
In a healthy body, hormonal, chemical and electrical messages are sent from the brain, down the nerves in your spinal column (which is an extension of the brain), and feeds every cell of your body.
Due to our busy lifestyles, physical injury, chemical exposure or emotions can often create an communication interference between the brain and the body cells. Over time, that interference, called a Subluxation, can create pain, disease and deterioration of the vertebrae and discs.
Only chiropractors are trained to identify and correct Subluxations.
Myofascial dysfunction in combination with subluxation creates a self perpetuating cycle of systemic disorder and pain. Dr. Adams is additionally trained in advanced techniques, that are integrated into ever treatment increasing the rate of recovery and reducing the number of office visits necessary to resolve pain.
Those additional techniques include:
Active Release Techniques®
Selective Functional Movement Assessment®
Functional Movement Screen®
Rapid Release®
Fundamental Capacity Screen®
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Management (Smart Tools®)
Deep Soft Tissue Adjustments
Cupping
